Win 1 Of 2 Copies Of Rough Guides’ New Isle of Wight Guide

We’re delighted at Shanklin Holiday Homes to have teamed up with Rough Guides to celebrate the launch of their brand new Pocket Rough Guide for the Isle of Wight.

Just launched, the guide is jammed packed with all the information you need for your next island escape. You’ll find guides for all the major towns on the island, reviews and recommendations for where to visit and eat, essential information and top tips for getting to and around the island, a selection of itineraries and much more!

For Shanklin, local businesses featured include Cavanagh and Baker, The Rock Shop, Pencil Cottage, Rylstone Gardens, No.64, Fisherman’s Cottage and Shanklin Chine.

We caught up with the author, Aimee White, to ask what hidden gems she found on her visit to the island and what she thinks the island has to offer for future visitors:

What surprised me from my research trip was the sheer amount of local produce available: island-roasted coffee, local-made fudge, island-distilled gin… along with chutneys, cheeses, wines and plenty more!

The Isle of Wight is one of those rare UK destinations where you feel like you could be abroad – whether it’s simply by crossing the Solent, enjoying the unique micro-climate or tucking into fresh seafood. Plus, you can truly embrace the great outdoors, from sprawling nature reserves to bracing clifftop walks; I think this will be the main pull for visitors from 2020 onwards.

For your chance to win 1 of 2 copies of the new guide, simply follow us on one of our social accounts – Instagram (@shanklinholidayhomes), Facebook (@shanklinholidayhomes) or Twitter (@shanklinholiday) – and answer the easy question below:
